July Studio Calico Sneaks
We have been SOOOOOOOOOOO SO busy. We have been running around finishing up the school year, participating in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, getting ready for Kids Camp, etc. Life is just a crazy mixed up jumble with a bunch of kids. Its a fun life, but it definitely has its madcap moments!
I did complete FIVE layouts for the Studio Calico July Kit Continental this month. Its hard to stop most months, you just get SO much to work with!! I added the Lewis & Clark Add-On to my cart this month. I’ve been waiting for the Girl’s Paperie On Holiday Cardstock Stickers since CHA, so I HAD to get that Add-On. They are ALL yummy, but I needed Lewis & Clark!
Here are my sneaks:
Another happy banner page! I love them so! This time a little twist on the banner shape with cut up pieces of the Pink Paislee Pleated Ribbon (in the Lewis & Clark Add-On) You can also see a bit of my current punch obsession, bumpy road!
The layout features paper from the main and the add on pattern papers. I also used twine and bits from the Lewis & Clark add on. I couldn’t scrapbook without my trusty American Crafts brown (and black) pens! I YUV them! This time I also used a slick writer on the label stickers! (the letter stickers and the label sticker is from the AWESOME Girl’s Paperie Cardstock Sticker pack in Lewis & Clark!)
I was especially proud of my idea to use the Pink Paislee ribbon as a “1st Place ribbon” edging. This uses a lot of stuff from the main kit as well as some from Lewis & Clark.
I am totally a sucker for Cosmo Cricket Chipboard!! We are carrying two of them in the shop this month. I used both of them on layouts. This one features the Joy Ride set. I also used the stickers from the main, papers from the main and Add On Papers, and two punches: Hydrangea and Binding Edge. I was also lucky enough to get my hands on the new DATE STAMP that SC produced. I used the Barn Door ink with it!
Another one using the CC Chipboard Stickers, this time the Garden Variety set. I was convinced by Susan W. to buy the Bumpy Road edger, and I’ve used it over and over this week, on cards and layouts, including this one! I also used Lemon Maya Mist to change the color of the AWESOME CORRUGATED ALPHA!!!! (obsessed with the corrugated alpha!)
Blog Hop Winner!
Thank you ALL for participating in the Blog Hop, I hope you had fun!
For your patience here is another Documentary layout! There was a challenge on the Studio Calico Message Board to do something you have never done before on a layout. I have never done paint spatter (mist yes, paint spatter, no!) I tried Steph W’s technique on this layout, and love the results!
My winner is comment number 276

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors of this line. The green and yellows are yummy, as well as all the rest. The Studio Calico team really hit this one out of the park.
My two favorite pieces of paper are:
I love both sides of Holiday, and the Camera side of Camera Shy is TDF! LOVE the bright colored cameras! I want to wall paper my house with them
Here’s what I’ve made so far:
This is not a travel only line. There are plenty of things you can do with it that are not travel related. The colors just kill me, I have to say.
I used Jet Set, Holiday, Looky There, Camera Shy and Souvenir papers, as well as the Alphabet, Fabrips and Stickers!

June Studio Calico layouts
Once again, I loved the bright colors! YUM YUM!
Here’s my layouts:
I loved this photo that Jon took of Jovi right around 1 month old. My kids all love to just sit around and stare at her, and I for sure hear it at least once a day, “MOM, isn’t she so ADORABLE!!” in that high pitched voice that shows just how cute she’s being
I used the main and Add on Patterned paper to make this! As well as my trusty Tim Holtz scissors! I also made my “beach balls” using my big circle punch. If you want to make them I made a tutorial on the SC blog as well. Check it out!
The kids are pretty good about not playing too rough with Jovi, but I caught them putting her in the baby doll cradle, and had to shoot some photos. Daddy always tells them she’s not a baby doll.
For this layout I used the main kit, and Add On Patterned Paper. I also used the Crate chipboard pieces! I LOVED them, and used quite a few on different projects!
This is the first year we’ve had a garden. I was so excited about it that I had to make a layout
I used the main kit and Add On Patterned paper for this one as well, as well as Rec League. I also used my favorite tool the tiny attacher which only comes with 100 staples. I went through the staples in like a couple of weeks. You NEED the refills too
I also used my new favorite embellie, JUTE!!!
Finally, my last layout was about “doing the needful” Jon’s Indian coworkers always talk about “doing the needful” and we definitely were doing the needful whilst getting ready for the baby to make an appearance!
I used the main and the Shade Tree add on. Shade Tree is still available in the shop! I loved the nest stamp and the K&Co. letters! I used the backing for the K&Co. letters to make the mat for my photo and journaling.
Again with the Crate Chip Pieces!
I also made this little 4×6 book for our summer memories! I love how it turned out, and the little sunburst stamp from the main kit was PERFECT on here! I used the main and then some paper and the mini BG stickers from the Front Porch Add On
I hope you will enjoy this kit! I certainly did!!!
Studio Calico June Kit
The June kit is ever so lovely!!! I love love love the bright colors! It goes on sale TONIGHT at 12 midnight EST!! Subscribers can grab add ons starting at 12 noon EST today!
The shop updates are going live at NOON today. You should TOTALLY look and see. I used the Crate chipboard, and the October Afternoon stickers and journaling cards in my layouts for this month!
Remember anything you buy today will be held for you until your June shipment! Stock up early before the rush tonight!
June Sneak Peeks
MMMMM, Studio Calico has another yummy kit coming atcha this week. It goes up for sale Thursday Night at midnight EST. Be there or be square!
The kit and add ons are pretty eclectic. I loved the colors again. Bright and cheery is my thing! I only had time to make 4 layouts, but that’s only because of crying baby. I would have loved to have made more! I did two layouts about baby, one about pregnancy and one about our first garden. I also made a little 4×6 book about summer out of one sheet of cardstock. I will add 2×3 photos of stuff we do this summer!
The shop is always filled with great stuff. Here’s some of the shop items I used this month:
I love the JUTE! Davinie hipped me to this stuff and I YUV it so much. I think it was my favorite thing in my box this month…it just looks so purty on all its little spools! Jute is a perfect addition to lots and lots of things. (Also I’m still obsessed with the bakers twine!!) I also bought the Crate Paper Doll Chipboard. It is soooooooo cute! I had to have it with all the little dolls at my house
(it’ll be in the shop on Thursday) I also used my big circle punch to make those “beach ball” type things. And my fav fav favorite Brown and Black AC pens. I use them on almost every project!
Well, shop on friends! I can’t WAIT until Thursday. The chatting and the gallery will be FAB!
Peep game!
Happy National Scrapbook Day!!

My challenge is this: Scrap Yo Mama!
After Jovi came, my mom and dad came out to Seattle to see the baby. My dad had to go back to work the Tuesday after Easter, so he headed back to the East Coast on Monday, but my mom stayed. I think she was here for 14 days total, and she was a GODSEND for sure. She did so much for us, and really let me rest a lot, which is exactly what I needed. I have made pages about her many times before, but I really felt like I needed to make a page to thank her for what a great mom she’s been to me, especially as an adult.
So the challenge is to scrap your Mom. OR, your mother in law, or if you need to change it a little, scrap yourself as a mom, or whatever, but it MUST be mom-related! Scrap what you love about your mom, or what you love about being a mom, or what you miss about your mom when she’s gone? Let’s celebrate the Mom’s in our lives.
Post links to your layouts HERE at SC and I’ll pick a winner Sunday afternoon!!!
Studio Calico May Kit Reveal
Oh
Em
Gee!
I seriously loved the May Kit at Studio Calico. It was PERFECT for my new baby photos…and even if I DIDN’T have new baby photos, I would still love this kit. The tones in the October Afternoon and Girl’s Paperie are soft but strong enough to not be pastel pastels. I am just in love. So in love that I completed 6 layouts even with a new baby in the house.
I loved all the different papers in this kit. I knew I wanted to make one layout where they kind of stood on their own. I almost added stitching to this one, but I decided against it at the last minute. I thought it was enough on its own.
The Studio Calico honeycomb paper was so amazing. I just HAD to add a bee, and a bee related saying. I think I’ll frame this one. I really love the Baker’s Twine on this layout…I think it makes a PERFECT bee trail!!!
I went graphic with this one. I wanted to tell the story of her name, AND to use that tres gorgeous hambly doily paper!!! I love how this turned out. The blue is a bit softer IRL, but I love the contrast with the yellow twisted burlap string.
My son says hilarious things. I love using literal translations of things, so I needed to add a puppy to this page. Hope you like it:D (Note the tiny staples!!! I’m obsessed with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. Don’t forget to buy the tiny staples too, b/c you only get 100 with your attacher.)
These photos CRACKED me up. When I found him sharing the I-Pod with the baby I had to pull out the camera.
When I first saw the KI lace in the kit, I really wasn’t sure about it…especially about how it fit with the other pieces. I ended up LOVING the lace. I really really like my layouts where I used it! It gives a more playful look to this “pretty” kit. I used my VERY FAVORITE PEN on this page. I always use the AC Precision Pen in Black with the .08 tip.
My beautiful girls. I love these photos of them all matching! The big girls were so excited to match the baby! I made the red Thickers a little softer with my BG file set!! I love that stinkin set!
May Studio Calico Sneaks
The new May Kit for Studio Calico will be available on Wednesday April 28th (at midnight). It was one of my FAVORITE kits ever, so you really ought to take a look
The kit and gallery reveal is Wednesday at midnight. Be There or Be Square!

Studio Calico March Reveal
Last night was the Studio Calico reveal. The kit is gorgeous, but unfortunately sold out relatively quickly.
The DT gallery was gorgeous this month too. Here’s what I did for this month.
This is mostly done with the HoneyComb add on kit and was a lift of a Studio Calico member QingMei!
This one was with photos from last years Easter Sunday. I loved these photos that we took as a family, and they matched the Dear Lizzy papers perfectly!
This one used one of the flags from the banner kit (patchwork) Just a little appreciation for Jon, who has been great during my whole pregnancy.
This layout is mostly using the main kit and more patterned paper. Peices of it are from Wedding Ring. We gave my niece Lexi a hunny dolla in ones, and I wanted to capture that moment! I tend to have a hard time with Jenni Bowlin papers, so I’m happy that this one turned out and I even like it
Is what I did with the project kit PatchWork. I love how it turned out!! It will hang somewhere in Baby J’s room!
Two more layouts to share here. I haven’t shared any Anthology or HomeFront layouts recently. Here are two I’ve done in the past month or so.
